What is Vaser Liposuction?

September 26th, 2011

Dr. Robert Aycock and his experienced Bay Area cosmetic surgery team have helped countless men and women achieve their body contouring goals with Vaser liposuction.

Vaser Lipo® is an innovative high-definition fat removal procedure that gets great results with minimal invasiveness. If you have localized areas of stubborn fat that won’t respond to diet and exercise efforts, Vaser may be the ideal solution to help you slim down. Performed in our state-of-the-art plastic surgery facility, Vaser is considered a very safe alternative to traditional liposuction. The recovery is faster and there is less downtime involved, so you can return to work or other activities as soon as Dr. Aycock feels you are ready.

How Vaser Lipo Works

Vaser may be used on any area of the body that needs fat reduction, including the tummy, thighs, butt, arms, neck, and chest. With a special technique called LipoSelection®, these specific areas are targeted as ultrasonic energy breaks up fat tissue.

The precision and gentleness of these techniques ensure excess fat is removed without inflicting harm on surrounding blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. Skin appears smoother and a tightened, youthful contour is noticeable within a few months.

Steps of Vaser Lipo

First, Dr. Aycock injects a tumescent fluid with a high concentration of saline to numb the area, shrink blood vessels, and make fat tissue easier to  remove.  He then makes small incisions where the Vaser tube is used to loosen fat cells. The wand gently removes the excess fatty tissue using a gentle suction motion. A comfortable compression garment is worn after surgery to encourage tightening of the skin and ensure proper healing. During the recovery process, patients may experience bruising but should be able to return to normal activities in a short amount of time.

Planning Your Vaser Session

Dr. Aycock can answer all of your liposuction questions and show you his extensive portfolio of liposuction patient photos. Affordable patient financing is available for Vaser Lipo and other body reshaping procedures.

Choose from our nonsurgical treatments to further enhance the results of your Vaser procedure, including laser resurfacing, laser hair removal, and VelaShape™ nonsurgical body contouring.

We invite you to sit down with our body contouring team to discuss the benefits of Vaser Lipo. To set up your personal consultation, please contact Dr. Robert Aycock in the Bay Area today.

Summer of Reinvention: Why Now is the Best Time for a Total Body Makeover

May 8th, 2011

Although most of us don’t get the freedom that kids enjoy, summertime allows us a few months of that feeling of freedom and a carefree, lighthearted attitude. We may plan family vacations, weekend getaways, and new recreational activities. However you spend your summer, one thing is for sure — you want to look and feel your best.

At the office of Dr. Robert Aycock, we recognize the importance of reinvention, and we perform more total body makeovers around the end of spring or beginning of summer than any other time of year.

Designing Your New Figure

Body recontouring is the art of combining cosmetic body shaping procedures to help you improve your appearance. The total body makeover is the ultimate body recontouring method that aims to enhance several areas for a comprehensive result.

The most popular procedures today are those that address specific areas of the body that are limited by Mother Nature. If you are not happy with your breast size or shape, the breast enlargement, breast reduction, and breast lift work wonders. Liposuction and tummy tuck are the quintessential tools for women and men who simply cannot lose localized pounds due to genetics and body type.

There are also a variety of noninvasive treatments you can use to improve the appearance and texture of skin, such as fat transfer and laser hair removal.

If you are not ready to have surgery, we also offer the nonsurgical body shaping/cellulite reduction procedure called VelaShape.™

Facial Enhancement

Dr. Aycock has a variety of facial plastic surgery procedures that can beautifully complement a total body makeover. Choose from dramatic anti-aging procedures like the facelift, neck lift, and eyelid lift, or opt for the less invasive, nonsurgical treatments like BOTOX® and laser skin resurfacing. We can also get you started on a new skin care regimen, designed to promote healthy tone, texture, and vital new cell growth.

Why Dr. Aycock?

When you choose Dr. Robert Aycock as your total body makeover surgeon, you can expect only the highest standards of care. Every step of the process is expertly handled to ensure your experience and your results are exceptional.

Dr. Aycock’s philosophy of care is centered around using specific procedures to enhance each patient’s overall appearance, considering what techniques will fit perfectly with individual goals. Dr. Aycock’s cosmetic surgery facility is state-of-the-art. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional in everything they do.

Full or Mini Tummy Tuck?

March 27th, 2011

If you are searching for a way to reshape your abdomen area, a tummy tuck from skilled surgeon Dr. Robert Aycock can provide you with a more toned, tightened appearance. A tummy tuck, also called an abdominoplasty, is a popular cosmetic surgery for people who have struggled with losing the “stomach pouch,” men who want more definition in this area, and women who have stretched abdominal muscles as a result of pregnancy. Tummy tuck is also a fine solution for those with excess skin due to aging or weight loss. Liposuction may be performed along with a tummy tuck to remove the top layers of fat and reveal the muscular structure underneath.

Patients who are interested in a tummy tuck should fall within a healthy weight range; Abdominoplasty is a reshaping procedure and should not be used as a weight loss tool. When you visit Dr. Robert Aycock to discuss your abdomen enhancement choices, he will present the benefits of both the full tummy tuck and the mini tummy tuck to help you choose one that suits you best.

Mini Tummy Tuck

If your tummy area is somewhat toned and you require only a small amount of adjustment, a mini abdominoplasty is a great way to go. This surgery is less invasive than a full tummy tuck and requires a shorter surgical time as well as a shorter recovery period. During a mini tummy tuck, Dr. Aycock makes a small incision in the lower abdomen and tightens the stomach muscles while excess skin is gently removed. As a general guideline, mini tucks are usually recommended for patients who have excess fat or skin below the belly button.

Full Tummy Tuck

A full tummy tuck is a smart choice for men and women with excess fat and/or skin in the upper and lower abdomen. It is a more invasive procedure than the mini tummy tuck and requires a longer healing time, but the results are more dramatic. The incision extends between the two hipbones and also around the belly button, although Dr. Aycock may alter it based on the amount of correction needed. Similar to the mini version, the muscles are tightened and sagging skin is excised.

Your Results

Dr. Aycock is an experienced abdominoplasty artist who devotes his talent and energy to ensuring tummy tuck results are tailored to each patient’s needs. Results will vary, but you can learn more about the benefits of our tummy tuck options with Dr. Aycock’s detailed tummy tuck video. VelaShape: Nonsurgical Body Contouring

August 23rd, 2009

For those of you who have tried everything to get your ideal body shape — from fad diets to special garments — there’s a new, nonsurgical approach to body contouring that is turning heads due to its incredible results.

VelaShape™ is the first FDA-approved* body shaping procedure that requires no surgery.

Here’s How it Works:

VelaShape technology uses a safe combination of radiofrequency energy, infrared laser light energy, vacuum suction and mechanical massage to tighten, tone, and slim. These high-tech applications are used on fatty body areas to minimize the volume of fat and create a slimmer, smaller appearance. Light and heat energy smooth out the areas and shrink the size of fat cells during the virtually painless session.

Many VelaShape patients are amazed when measurements are taken after the procedure and a smaller body circumference (an average loss of 1 inch) is reached in as little as four treatments. You should see maximum results at about 6 – 8 weeks after your last treatment. And, best of all, there’s no downtime!

Are You a VelaShape Candidate?

If you desire to reduce the volume and appearance of fat in the thighs, buttocks, love handles, or abdomen, this cosmetic procedure might be a wonderful solution for you. VelaShape has shown positive results on men and women of all skin types and skin tones. If the idea of a nonsurgical body shaping procedure interests you, talk to an experienced body contouring surgeon to discuss the risk factors and decide if VelaShape is right for you.

Want to learn more? Check out VelaShape on the CBS Morning Show.

To discover the benefits of VelaShape and find out if you are a good candidate, contact Dr. Robert Aycock in the San Francisco Bay Area to set up your body contouring consultation. Dr. Aycock also offers a variety of additional nonsurgical cosmetic procedures to help men and women look and feel their very best.

Target Stubborn Areas With Liposuction

June 7th, 2009

Are you unhappy with certain areas of your body due to excess fat that just won’t budge? The cosmetic body contouring procedure liposuction can do wonders for these areas if you are in good health and considered a candidate for the procedure.

About Liposuction

Liposuction is an extremely popular cosmetic surgery option for both men and women. This fat removal technique uses a cannula, or wand, to extract excess fat cells from problem areas like the stomach, thighs, hips, love handles, back, face, and arms. It is such a great option, too, because it can be used on areas where only a small amount of fat removal is needed. To see what a difference this procedure can make, take a look at some liposuction before and after photos.

Combine Procedures For Big Results

If you are trying to achieve dramatic changes and aiming to resculpt your body, you might consider adding a second procedure to the same surgical experience, such as a buttock lift, arm lift, neck lift, or facelift. For example, patients who are targeting the stomach, thighs or love handles with liposuction often add in a tummy tuck procedure to improve their shape.

Choosing a Liposuction Surgeon

When choosing an experienced plastic surgeon to perform your liposuction procedure, remember that experience counts. Surgeons who have been performing this surgery for many years may be better able to deliver the kind of results you are looking for while maintaining top safety standards and maximum comfort.

Are You a Good Candidate?

If you would like to improve specific areas of localized fat, have realistic expectations about what this procedure can do, and you are in good general health, liposuction may be a convenient body sculpting solution for you. Patients who are within healthy weight ranges or who are slightly overweight are preferable, as liposuction should not be used as a medium for large-volume weight loss.

Liposuction is a time-tested procedure that can be used to help you achieve your ideal proportions while giving your self-confidence a boost. If you would like more information on the incredible benefits of liposuction, feel free to contact Dr. Robert Aycock in the San Francisco Bay Area region.

Tone and Firm With a Tummy Tuck

April 4th, 2009

For many of people, diet and exercise alone will not be enough to help them achieve their ideal body size and shape. Body contouring is a safe and effective way to enhance your figure and create a look you can be proud to show off. The tummy tuck procedure is a popular plastic surgery option that lets you target one of the biggest problem areas for men and women — the stomach “pooch.”

The tummy tuck surgery has been performed on millions of patients worldwide. The results can be amazing, especially when you choose a highly skilled plastic surgeon who can help you reach your ideal proportions. For men, the tummy tuck can dramatically reduce the “spare tire” appearance, creating a more chiseled, toned stomach. For women, the removal of excess fat in the tummy area can not only knock off a couple of pant sizes, it can improve the chest-to-waist ratio and enhance overall proportions. This procedure is also great for patients who have lost weight and want to remove loose skin for a more youthful, solid stomach appearance. A mini-tummy tuck is available for patients who need less correction than the full tummy tuck offers.

During the tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty), the surgeon removes excess skin and tightens the stomach muscles. Liposuction may be used to remove stubborn fat tissue. Incisions are hidden in the pubic area and belly button for a smooth, flawless tummy appearance. Read more about what happens during surgery and what to expect post-operatively.

If you are interested in learning more about the tummy tuck procedure, visit the website of Dr. Robert Aycock in San Francisco. Dr. Aycock was voted Best Plastic Surgeon in Marin County for 2008 and 2009! To see what a difference this body contouring procedure can make, you can also check out a few before and after photos.
