Preparing for a Body Lift

You may be asked to have lab testing or a medical evaluation done to rule out any external issues that may interfere with your body lift. You may also be asked to start, discontinue, or adjust your current medication schedule. You’ll recover more quickly if you stop smoking, and you should avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicines, or any herbal supplements as these can increase bleeding.

How Is a Body Lift Performed?

A lower body lift is an abdominoplasty surgery that also addresses the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, and waist. Because the surgical procedure is extensive, you may be in the operating room for several hours and recovery may take several weeks. However, the procedure provides immediate, dramatic results. Not only will you be pleased with the way you look, but you’ll be more comfortable. Removing excess skin will make you feel lighter and make your clothes fit better.

If you’ve had lap banding or gastric bypass surgery, you shouldn’t pursue body lift surgery until your weight has been steady for at least three months.

Arm Lift

A Brachioplasty, or an arm lift, is designed to remove excess, sagging skin from your upper arm. The result is a shapelier arm you’re proud to show off.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes sagging breasts. Dr. Aycock has years of experience performing breast lifts. He will work with you to determine the best type of breast lift to give you perky, full breasts. Many women choose to add breast implants during a breast lift who desires more fullness.

Thigh Lift

If you have loose skin on your legs that jiggles when you walk, you’re a prime candidate for a thigh lift. A thigh lift will result in sleeker, tighter legs by removing cellulite and excess skin. Liposuction may also be included in the procedure to remove stubborn fat deposits.

Body Lift Recovery*

Depending on the area(s) being treated, you may be asked to wear an elastic bandage to help reshape the tightened skin. Recovery may take several weeks if you’ve had an extensive number of areas treated. During your consultation, Dr. Aycock will listen to your concerns and questions and outline a plan of action for recovery.
