Pro-Lipo: An Innovative, Minimally Invasive Fat Reduction Technique

For patients who've considered cosmetic fat reduction, there's a new solution available that offers great results with a variety of health and appearance benefits. Used as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with liposuction, Pro-Lipo (or laser-assisted lipolysis) is an FDA-approved fat reduction treatment that uses laser technology to get rid of unwanted, stubborn areas of fat. If you have areas of localized fat and that just won't budge even with repeated diet and exercise attempts, and you are currently in good health, Pro-Lipo may be a smart investment for you.
Common Pro-Lipo Treatment Areas
Pro-Lipo may be performed on virtually any area of the body with localized fat deposits. Choose one problem area, or combine several for dramatic results. Here are a few of the most popular options:
- Abdomen
- Thighs
- Upper arms
- Upper back
- Flanks
- Buttocks
- Chin
- Jowls
The Pro-Lipo Process
Here's what you can expect during the Pro-Lipo procedure.
- Dr. Aycock uses tumescent local anesthesia, instead of general or IV sedation, to numb the treatment area. The safe anesthetic solution is injected into the treatment area before the procedure begins.
- During a one to four hour procedure, Dr. Aycock creates small openings in the skin and uses the Sciton laser-fiber cannula to liquefy and remove fat cells.
- Liposuction may also be used at this time to remove unwanted fat.
- In addition to the visible reduction of fat, the procedure leaves the skin tighter and firmer thanks to its collagen-rebuilding benefits.
- After the procedure, downtime is significantly less than with liposuction, and recovery is complete within a few days. Many patients are able to return to normal activities in about two days.
- Results become more apparent over the days and weeks following Pro-Lipo as the area heals, shrinkage occurs and the skin tightens.
- To maintain your Pro-Lipo results, Dr. Aycock will recommend an ideal diet and exercise regimen for your body type.
Choosing a Pro-Lipo Plastic Surgeon
When choosing a physician to perform your Pro-Lipo body contouring procedure, you should look for a plastic surgery professional with a strong background, many years of experience, and a high success rate with the Pro-Lipo procedure.
