Cheek Implants - San Francisco
By Bay Area Surgeon Dr. Aycock

High cheekbones are a defining characteristic of a sophisticated appearance, but not everyone is born with perfect facial bone structure. However, cheek implant surgery (cheek augmentation) can enhance cheek contours, creating a look that you have always hoped for.
Small or asymmetrical cheek structure is typically a result of genetics, but aging can also reduce cheek tissue. Cheek implants can be used to improve facial symmetry, and to create a more youthful, refined appearance.
Cheek Implant Procedure Information
Cheek implant surgery is typically performed on an outpatient basis under either general or local anesthesia, depending upon the situation. San Francisco surgeon Dr. Aycock will make a small incision either in the hairline, under the upper lip, or in the lower eyelid. If a facelift or other facial surgery is being performed at the same time, then the corresponding incision will be used. Dr. Aycock will then insert through the incision a pre-shaped implant against the cheek bone, which is held in place by the existing tissue.
Recovery from Cheek Augmentation Surgery
Unless another procedure is being performed at the same time such as a facelift or brow lift, then dressings are typically unnecessary following cheek enhancement surgery. Initial swelling is usually very mild, and any discomfort can easily be controlled with oral medications prescribed by Dr. Aycock.
