Nose Surgery - San Francisco
Rhinoplasty By Dr. Aycock

Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures in the U.S. Nose enhancement is commonly performed for any of the following reasons:
- Reduce nose size
- Modify nose shape (including nose angle, slope, or nose tip or bridge shape)
- Reduce or modify nostril shape and size
- restore appearance following a nose injury
- Correct appearance resulting from a birth defect
- Improve breathing
Rhinoplasty Procedure Information
In most nose surgery procedures, the nasal skin is cut and lifted away from the bone and cartilage framework beneath, allowing Bay Area surgeon Dr. Aycock to reshape the underlying nose structure. The skin is then re-draped over the "new" framework, and a soft splint is applied to help the nose maintain stability in adapting to its new form.
Recovery from Nose Surgery
Bruising, swelling, and mild discomfort can be expected after rhinoplasty surgery, but all can be alleviated with cold compresses and medication prescribed by San Francisco surgeon Dr. Aycock. Splints and stitches are removed in about a week, and you can usually expect to return to work within about a week, with the most visible swelling and bruising typically disappearing within two weeks. Strenuous activities may be resumed within a few months.
