The Average Cost of Facelift Surgery

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons – the folks who collect data on cosmetic surgical costs – the average cost of facelift surgery in 2018 was $7,655. Stats won’t be updated for 2019 until early 2020, but we anticipate that the average cost will have risen by a few hundred dollars.

Of course, that doesn’t mean you’ll pay exactly $7,655 for your facelift surgery. There are a number of factors that can increase the costs of your surgery, which we’ll explore below.

What Goes Into Determining My Facelift Surgery Costs?

1. Your plastic surgeon.

No doubt about it, your plastic surgeon’s experience and educational background will play a big role in the price tag associated with your facelift surgery. The more esteemed and experienced, the more likely it is that you’ll pay more for your surgery.

Beware of discount surgeons: If you’re tempted to save money by going with an inexperienced plastic surgeon, the suboptimal results may end up showing on your face.

2. Your cost of living.

Like with most things, the area where you live can play a big role in how much you pay for your facelift surgery. Patients in more expensive zip codes can expect to shell out more money for their procedure than those who live in more modest areas.

3. Additional fees.

Remember that figure we quoted from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons? That price doesn’t include essential – and additional – costs, like surgical center fees, general anesthesia, and prescription medications. The best way to determine the price of your facelift is to come in for a consultation with Dr. Robert Aycock.
