By now, you probably know that there are a lot of anti-wrinkle injections out there. Two of them – Dysport and Botox – promise to help ease the appearance of prominent wrinkles, including frown lines and crow’s feet.

But is Dysport like Botox? What are the similarities and differences between the two injections – and how do you know which one is right for you?

How Dysport and Botox are Alike

Dysport and Botox have very strong similarities, including sharing the same main active ingredient that’s responsible for smoothing away wrinkles and fine lines. Both Dysport and Botox contain botulinum toxin, which acts to block nerve signals between the brain and the muscles at the injection site.

The freezing effect that follows helps to relax the skin, thus easing the severity and visibility of forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and frown lines.

The Differences Between Dysport and Botox

There are some small differences between Dysport and Botox, which may influence which anti-aging injection you opt for. Some characteristics to note include:

  • Price – Dysport is typically around the same price as Botox.
  • Potency – Botox and Dysport are derived from the same neurotoxin, and both can provide amazing results for your skin.
  • Visible Results – Clinical trials have shown that Dysport produces visible results much sooner than Botox.

Which One is Right for Me?

The right treatment for you will largely depend on your goals, as well as your budget. For example, if you have a big event coming up and you want to ensure your skin will be ready in time, we may recommend Dysport over Botox.
