What Is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is a long-lasting dermal filler used for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles. Radiesse® injections restore a natural, youthful look by filling and correct smile lines, nasolabial folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
Radiesse® is made of unique calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a natural gel which is injected into the skin with a thin needle. The injection procedure can be slightly uncomfortable, and a topical anesthetic can be used if desired.
The results of a Radiesse® treatment are immediate, and results typically last a year or more. Since results may vary, be sure to discuss your expectations with Dr. Aycock.
Dr. Aycock will discuss your options with you for dealing with wrinkles and/or lip augmentation. He will help you understand the pros and cons of each wrinkle treatment, enabling you to make your own decision about wrinkle treatment.
Dr. Aycock is a trainer for Botox® Cosmetic and dermal filler injections.

Preparing for Radiesse®
You may be asked to have lab testing or a medical evaluation done to rule out any external issues that may interfere with your treatment. You may also be asked to start, discontinue, or adjust your current medication schedule. You’ll recover more quickly if you stop smoking, and you should avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicines, or any herbal supplements as these can increase bleeding.
How Is Radiesse® Administered?
Radiesse® is a natural gel containing calcium-based microspheres that work to smooth out crevices and folds in the face. It is injected directly into the skin, which may cause some discomfort. Ice or a local anesthetic may be applied to help lessen any discomfort. Treatment results are immediate and may last up to a year or more.
There is little to no downtime for the application of Radiesse® and many patients go on about their daily tasks right away. You may feel some discomfort at the site of the injection; however, mild pain relievers or a topical anesthetic can be applied to lessen this sensation.
