Preparing for ProLipo™

You should follow a healthy diet, including proper diet and exercise, to experience best results from ProLipo™ treatment. If you are having multiple areas done, you may be advised to wait 6-8 months between treatments to allow your body time to restore its natural contour and structure. Depending on the area being treated, results can be visible right away, although there may be some swelling and redness.

How Is ProLipo™ Performed?

ProLipo™ involves the injection of a local anesthetic into the targeted fatty area. Once that area is numb, a cannula containing a laser fiber is passed through small openings in the skin and when fired, the laser energy targets and gets rid of the fat cells. While doing so, the laser rearranges the collagen produced under the skin, thus causing the skin to tighten and firm. Common areas that benefit most from ProLipo™ include the chin, upper arms and back, stomach, inner and outer thighs, hips, and waist.

ProLipo™ Recovery*

For proper recovery, you may be asked to wear a compression garment. This will allow your skin to properly contour over the affected area, as well as help minimize swelling and discomfort. Some mild discomfort and bruising are to be expected and can be relieved using over-the-counter analgesics. Patients can generally return to their normal activities within a few days.
