Vascular Laser Treatment

What Is Vascular Laser Treatment?
Vascular laser treatment helps reduce the appearance of vascular lesions, spider veins, rosacea, acne scarring, and wrinkles by targeting the affected areas with a gentle laser light. Using short pulses of intense light, energy is converted into heat, which gets rid of the targeted vessels, leaving other areas of the skin unharmed.

Benefits of Vascular Laser Treatment
In addition to improving the tone and texture of the skin, people who have had vascular laser treatment report the following benefits:
- Softer, smoother, more beautiful skin.
- Tighter, more improved skin tone and complexion.
What is a vascular (vein) laser treatment?
Vascular laser treatment is used to treat vascular lesions, such as port wine stains, spider veins, rosacea, and wrinkles by targeting the vessels in these specific areas. Only the targeted vessels are broken down; surrounding healthy tissue and skin is left unharmed. The laser used is determined by the size and depth of the vessels.

Preparing for Vascular Laser Treatment
You will be asked to remove all makeup and wear safety goggles for the duration of the procedure.
How Is Vascular Laser Treatment Performed?
The laser emits short pulses of intense light, which penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the red cells within the blood vessels. The energy released from the light is converted into heat, which then gets rid of the vessels. The entire session lasts about 15 minutes.

Vascular Laser Treatment Recovery*
Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation, similar to a sunburn. Others report minimal discomfort. After your treatment, you may notice some redness; however, this normally dissipates within hours. You may be asked to apply a moisturizer such as Vaseline to keep the affected area moist and provide a barrier against infection and pollutants while the skin heals. Some patients may experience bruising for up to one week after the procedure.
