Skin can look dull, uneven, or hyperpigmented for many reasons. Laser skin resurfacing can treat all your facial skin concerns for smooth, youthful skin. This treatment removes damaged layers of skin cells to stimulate cell turnover.

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing may use one of many different lasers. This treatment works using pulses of laser energy that trigger your skin to restore itself. Depending on the type of laser, it may also stimulate new collagen formation to improve the skin’s firmness and texture. Lasers come in two forms: ablative lasers, which remove part or all of the skin’s outer surface, or non-ablative lasers, which treat the skin without removing any layers. Laser treatments are highly effective and customizable to meet your needs.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

Different types of lasers work in different ways. These are three examples of our many available lasers:

Sciton® Halo™

Halo™ can combine ablative and non-ablative wavelengths for a customized treatment. It has three settings to address different skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. When more intensive settings are used, they can also address textural issues like acne scars and deeper lines.

ProFractional™

ProFractional™ is a fractional laser that creates tiny channels in the skin’s surface. These channels stimulate cell turnover and collagen production. New collagen firms and tightens the skin to treat textural issues like fine lines and wrinkles. It can also treat pigmentation issues, enlarged pores, and many other issues.

MicroLaser Peel™

The MicroLaser Peel™ removes the outer layers of skin. It is similar to microdermabrasion but deeper and more powerful. It leaves skin dramatically softer and smoother while addressing issues like hyperpigmentation. Your skin will also look tighter, giving you a more youthful look. This laser bridges the gap between microdermabrasion and deep chemical peels.

Is There Any Downtime After Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Downtime after laser skin resurfacing depends on the type of laser used and the intensity of your treatment. The most common effect after treatment is sunburn-like redness and sensitivity. This can last several days and may be mild or more noticeable. Some types of laser treatments may involve a few days of mild peeling. Most laser treatments require minimal downtime, but your expert laser provider will explain what you can expect.
