Like many other dermal fillers, Juvederm®’s base is hyaluronic acid, a natural compound that encourages skin-plumping, youthfulness, and a reduction in lines and wrinkles. Patients typically notice results immediately after the procedure, with long-term improvements becoming more noticeable over the following months. Most Juvederm® results can last one to two years.

Juvederm® Types

Juvederm® is a brand name that refers to several different types of hyaluronic acid-based filler products, all of which are used to reverse the signs of aging. The difference between them comes down to the concentration of hyaluronic acid and the different types of bonding they use. The manufacturer formulates each product to target specific skin issues that arise in different parts of the face.

Juvederm® Ultra XC is a  dermal filler designed specifically to plump the lips.

Juvederm® XC reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles around the mouth, improving the appearance of the pout.

Juvederm® Voluma XC is a slightly different product designed to improve facial volume around the cheeks. Dr. Aycock and his team of Clinical Aestheticians use it to reverse gauntness or sunken cheeks.

Juvederm® Longevity

Juvederm® lasts between one and two years, with some effects noticeable immediately. The product works by injecting additional hyaluronic acid into the skin to encourage skin cells to produce more natural plumping compounds, such as elastin and collagen autonomously. The physical volume of the compound provides immediately noticeable effects. Then, over time, the skin upregulates the production of its own natural filling agents, providing additional smoothing that lasts for many months afterwards.

Benefits of Juvederm®

Juvederm® offers multiple benefits. Here’s a rundown:

  • Reduction of lines and wrinkles: Dermal fillers stimulate the skin to fight lines and wrinkles, reprogramming cells’ internal chemistry to behave more youthfully. Fillers both add volume to the face and incentivize skin rejuvenation.
  • Improvements in facial volume: As patients age, the collagen structures in the dermis begin to lose their elasticity and volume. Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm®, replace lost plumpness, helping to reverse issues such as sunken cheeks.
  • Target specific areas of the face: The Juvederm® family of fillers allows you to target specific areas of the face, including the cheeks, lips and area immediately surrounding the pout.

No downtime: After receiving Juvederm® filler treatment, you’re able to return to your schedule – no downtime required. Just avoid sun exposure, consuming alcohol, and wearing makeup.

Am I a Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Juvederm® is an FDA-approved dermal filler specifically for targeting the cheeks, lines around the mouth, and lip volume issues. If your cheeks look sunken or are losing volume, your lips are thinning, or you have wrinkles when you pout, you could be a great candidate for the treatment.

We also proudly carry the Restylane® family of fillers. Restylane® is similar to Juvederm® in that they both use hyaluronic acid to address facial volume loss among other aging concerns. Your Clinical Aesthetician will be able to advise you on which filler best suits your unique case upon consultation.

Dermal fillers contain compounds that occur naturally in the skin, making them safe for the vast majority of patients. If you have any allergies, speak to your Clinical Aestheticians during your customized consultation.
