Spider veins tend to form in the lower regions of your legs, giving off an unsightly appearance. Luckily, they’re rarely a significant medical problem, only causing cosmetic issues. Still, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get them fixed! If you’re sick of the sight of your spider veins, you’ll be pleased to know that treatments are available to permanently remove them. At Dr. Aycock’s practice, our method of choice is vascular laser treatment. It’s non-invasive and provides exceptional results.

What is a Spider Vein?

A spider vein is a small damaged vein that’s visible through your skin. They tend to be blue or purple, forming due to problems within the blood vessel. What tends to happen is the valve inside a vein stops working properly, leading to blood pooling in the vein. This makes the vein bulge slightly, branching out into spider veins. They get their name as these veins can look like little spider webs on your body.

Typically, spider veins are found in your legs since this is where circulation can be the most challenging. As mentioned earlier, this is rarely something to be worried about, but it can cause cosmetic concerns leading many patients to seek treatment for them.

Spider Vein Treatment

We use a vascular laser treatment to significantly reduces the appearance of spider veins in your legs. Short pulses of intense light energy are applied to the target veins. Here, the light is converted into heat, which is absorbed by the blood vessels. As a result, the vessels are broken down and absorbed back into the body naturally.

Consequently, you will no longer have any visible spider veins, and blood can be re-routed to healthier vessels in the area. This is all done without the need for any injections or invasive procedures – which is why this treatment is so popular!

Am I a Candidate for Spider Vein Treatments?

Do you have blue or purple veins that stand out on your skin? Do they appear in clusters or branches, looking like a spider’s web? If you do, you may be an ideal candidate for spider vein treatments. While they commonly appear on your legs, some people suffer from spider veins on their faces. Again, if this applies to you, you’ll be a good candidate.

Benefits of Spider Vein Treatments

Firstly, they tackle the problem head-on and produce results that are permanent. Once a spider vein has been broken down, it won’t return. Other spider veins can form from other damaged vessels, but you can take steps to prevent this by improving circulation. Still, the original spider veins that you targeted will be gone forever.

No downtime is needed following this treatment, and it’s virtually painless. This treatment does not require an anesthetic as there’s no surgery involved. It’s a fast and effective treatment option that will tackle your spider veins and remove them without damaging any of the surrounding tissue.
