The HALO™ Laser is an innovative treatment that uses traditional fractional lasers emitting either ablative or non-ablative waves. During your treatment, a handpiece is moved over your skin, tuning the device to the correct wavelength. From here, the lasers get to work on your skin, helping to treat a wide range of conditions and problems. As a non-surgical treatment, it’s quickly become one of the most popular for patients at Dr. Aycock’s practice.

Top 3 Conditions That Can be Treated with the HALO™ Laser

The HALO™ Laser can treat many different things. However, we typically use it to target these three cosmetic concerns:

Wrinkles and Fine Lines

Constant sun exposure, coupled with the natural aging process, means that everyone will get wrinkles at some point. There are plenty of wrinkle treatment ideas out there, but the HALO™ Laser is one of the best. Thanks to its revolutionary laser technology, you can smooth out fine lines and make your skin look younger.

Sun Damage/Hyperpigmentation

The HALO™ Laser can treat sun damage and hyperpigmentation, and it is particularly effective at removing sunspots. We’ll go into more detail on how the laser works later, but the brief explanation is that it deeply exfoliates the top layer of your skin leaving a fresh surface beneath, making hyperpigmentation less visible.

Acne Scars

Similarly, this laser treatment can reduce the appearance of acne scars by removing the uppermost layer of your skin. With multiple treatments, you effectively make the scars fade away forever!

How Does the HALO™ Laser Work to Resolve These Conditions?

The HALO™ Laser is classified as a laser resurfacing treatment. It uses two lasers in one:

  • Non-ablative: heats the underlying skin tissue to encourage collagen production without the removal of skin cells
  • Ablative: exfoliation and rejuvenation that partially removes the top layer of skin cells to reveal fresh and youthful skin

Both of these lasers will provide exfoliation effects for the skin. Non-ablative waves are less intense, helping to remove dirt and debris from the skin, making it cleaner and more youthful. The ablative waves go a bit deeper, removing skin cells as well.

In doing so, this can help create micro-channels in your skin that encourage the wound-healing process to begin. As a result, collagen and elastin production will rapidly increase. Thus, you get more of both within the target areas, helping you build firmer skin with fewer wrinkles. The resurfacing benefits of this laser also help to fade away imperfections – like sun damage and acne scars.

The beauty of the HALO™ Laser is that your treatment will be highly customized to your goals. Some patients may need non-ablative or ablative treatments, while others may require both wavelengths. Your unique treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation.

Am I a Candidate for HALO™ Laser Treatments?

If you suffer from any of the problems covered in this post, you could be a candidate for this laser treatment. It’s non-invasive and requires no surgery, making it a wonderful alternative to other cosmetic treatments. However, you should probably avoid this treatment if you suffer from skin sensitivity or regularly break out in a rash on your face.

Dr. Aycock and his team will run a full screening before any treatment takes place, ensuring that you are suitable for it.
