Aging and environmental exposures can leave your skin looking dull and damaged. BroadBand Light Therapy triggers cellular renewal and breaks up unwanted pigmentation, leaving skin bright and clear. This non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment can address a wide range of issues to reveal youthful-looking skin.

What is BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL)

BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL) uses pulses of light to rejuvenate your skin. Unlike a laser, which uses a single wavelength, a BBL™ PhotoFacial uses many wavelengths simultaneously to treat more skin concerns. This treatment can make skin look dramatically younger by triggering skin renewal and eliminating hyperpigmentation.

How Does BroadBand Light Therapy Work?

During a BBL™ PhotoFacial, your provider moves a handpiece over your skin. You may feel pulses of warmth as your skin absorbs the light energy. The advantage of using BroadBand Light Therapy is that some wavelengths are effective against brown pigmentation like sun damage, while others work against red pigments like broken capillaries. The light energy also heats the skin cells deep in the dermis to trigger new collagen production and rejuvenate the skin on a cellular level.

How Long Will BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL) Results Last?

BBL therapy promotes long-lasting changes in your skin. Results can last a year or more, especially with good sun protection and skin care. However, new spots, broken capillaries, and signs of aging will appear over time. We recommend yearly maintenance treatments to keep your skin bright and clear. This schedule will keep collagen production active and cellular turnover high.

How Many BBL Treatments Will I Need?

Most people will need a series of BBL™ PhotoFacial treatments to achieve their goals. Most skin concerns can be treated with three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. People with significant hyperpigmentation, rosacea, or sun damage may benefit from additional treatments. Fortunately, a BBL treatment can take as little as 15 minutes, making it easy to fit into your schedule and get back to work or your daily routine.

Is There Any Downtime After BBL Therapy?

A BBL™ PhotoFacial lets you see brighter, more even skin within days. You may experience mild sunburn-like redness lasting up to a day or two. Clear skin will become visible as the redness fades. Your skin will continue to improve as pigmented spots fade and new collagen improves texture and tone. There is no downtime required, but sun protection is essential, and we recommend avoiding exposure as much as possible.

Am I a Good Candidate for BBL Therapy?

BroadBand Light Therapy is an excellent skin rejuvenation treatment for many people. Most healthy adults can benefit, although BBL therapy may not be suitable for all skin tones. Good candidates want to address pigmentation issues, signs of aging, and other skin concerns without downtime or discomfort.
