What is Latisse®?

Latisse® signals your hair follicles to produce more eyelashes and grow them longer. You can see a significant increase in the density of lashes, making them look darker and fuller. You will also enjoy increased lash length. Latisse® is applied daily in the privacy of your own home using the instructions Dr. Aycock will provide

How Does Latisse® Work?

Hair follicles have an active hair growth phase and a resting phase where they grow no hair. Age can cause more follicles to stay in their resting phase affecting your lashes as well as the hair on the head. Latisse® signals hair follicles to spend more time in their active state. This lets them grow longer, healthier lashes. It also means that you have more follicles active at any given time, leading to the appearance of fuller, denser lashes.

How to Apply Latisse®

You will apply Latisse® once a day. You should start by removing contacts if you wear them. Apply Latisse® to the upper eyelashes only. Applying to the lower lashes may irritate. Blinking will transfer the product to the lower lashes. Sterile applicators are included to use each time you apply Latisse®. You can put your contacts in after about fifteen minutes. Avoid letting the applicator or the tip of the bottle touch anything since this could introduce bacteria.

What Results Will I See With Latisse®?

You will begin by applying Latisse® once per day at nighttime. You will follow this routine for about two months. You will start to see improvements in your lashes within six to eight weeks. Most people see fuller, thicker lashes first, and these lashes will continue to grow longer.

Are There Any Side Effects With Latisse®?

The most common side effects of Latisse® are dry eyes and redness if the product gets in the eye. Keep the bottle and applicators sterile to avoid getting bacteria into your eyes that could cause an infection. When you use Latisse® correctly, the risk of serious side effects remains very low.

Am I a Good Candidate for Latisse®?

If you want longer, denser lashes, you may be a good candidate for Latisse®. You should not use it if you have an eye infection, and let Dr. Aycock know if you have any eye conditions. Since this is a topical, noninvasive treatment, most people will qualify.
