While the birth of your child is an exciting and happy event, you may not feel as happy with the way your body looks afterward. A mommy makeover can restore a slimmer, more sculpted figure, so you feel like yourself again. This customized procedure addresses all your areas of concern for a body that looks even better than before your pregnancy.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover is a comprehensive solution to the effects of pregnancy on the abdomen, breasts, and other parts of the body. Dr. Aycock will design your mommy makeover procedure to give you the results you want. The key components of a mommy makeover include a tummy tuck, breast enhancement, and liposuction, but you may choose to include other procedures if you have other areas that bother you.

How Long Does it Take to Recover From a Mommy Makeover?

If you have a mommy makeover, you should plan ahead for your recovery process. You will need time to rest before you can resume activities.

Weeks One and Two

A compression garment will be placed on you right after the procedure to help minimize swelling, bruising and discomfort.   Medications will help with discomfort you may experience. Although you will be resting, you will be getting up and moving around your home, so you’ll need assistance for the first 48 hours or until you feel stable. You may not lift anything over 5 pounds so plan childcare and other tasks as needed.

Weeks Three and Four

Swelling will improve, and you will be able to start enjoying your mommy makeover figure. Most people can return to work during this period. Dr. Aycock will advise you on when you can resume activities such as light exercise.

Three to Six Months

Most people can resume lifting things and exercising as usual after about six weeks. Your body has usually healed within three months. The swelling resolves entirely in three to six months, and you can see the full benefits of your procedure.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

Most healthy adults make good candidates for a mommy makeover. Ideal candidates have waited at least six months from their last pregnancy and do not plan to become pregnant again. Good candidates understand the importance of patience during the recovery process.

I finally had coolsculpting on my tummy and what a surprisingly easy treatment it was. Ashley the nurse was fantastic and she used the new hand piece that is smaller and faster. It was painless except for the 2-minute massage after the treatment but not bad at all. I’m a little sore today but this was easy-breezy and I can’t wait to see my results. I highly recommend it.
