If you lead a healthy lifestyle but have areas of stubborn fat that refuse to budge, you have options. Liposuction can remove this difficult fat and give you a smoother, more contoured figure. You can have liposuction almost anywhere on your body that accumulates fat to help you reach your long-term body sculpting goals.

What is Liposuction?

Even if you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly, some fat may not go away. Liposuction works in these challenging areas to break up and remove excess fat. Dr. Aycock performs both traditional liposuction and ProLipo™ to make sure you achieve the results you want. Traditional liposuction uses a cannula to break up and suction fat, while ProLipo™ uses laser energy to heat and melt the fat.

How Much Does Liposuction Cost?

Fees can range from $3500-$4000 per area depending upon the type of liposuction performed.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that the average cost of liposuction is $3637. This average may not accurately reflect what you can expect to pay. Many factors affect the overall cost of liposuction, and Dr. Aycock will review all of these with you to make sure you fully understand all your possible expenses. Factors that will affect your final price include:

  • The size of the area you will have treated
  • Your location
  • Your provider’s skill and experience with liposuction
  • The type of liposuction performed
  • Anesthesia costs
  • Medications, surgical support garments, and other expenses

A consultation will clarify your surgery goals and allow Dr. Aycock to provide an honest and accurate estimate.

How is Liposuction Performed?

Dr. Aycock begins traditional liposuction by injecting the fat with large amounts of saline containing lidocaine, a numbing medication, and adrenaline, decreasing bleeding. This tumescent technique results in a much faster recovery and less discomfort after surgery. After the injections, he will insert a cannula through a small incision and use it to break up fat. The cannula also uses suction to remove the fat.

With ProLipo™, the cannula contains a fiber that emits laser energy. The laser heats the fat and melts it away. As a bonus, the heat generated by ProLipo™ will cause collagen fibers to tighten, firming the skin. Traditional liposuction does not offer this skin-tightening benefit, which can improve the final appearance of the treated area.

What is Recovery Like From Liposuction?

Most people can go back to work about one week after liposuction. If you have a job that requires strenuous activity, Dr. Aycock may recommend more recovery time. Swelling will take several months to resolve completely.

Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction?

Good candidates for liposuction are near their target weight and need help with difficult areas of problem fat. Liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure. You should maintain an overall healthy lifestyle and have no major health problems.

I finally had coolsculpting on my tummy and what a surprisingly easy treatment it was. Ashley the nurse was fantastic and she used the new hand piece that is smaller and faster. It was painless except for the 2-minute massage after the treatment but not bad at all. I’m a little sore today but this was easy-breezy and I can’t wait to see my results. I highly recommend it.
