Because chemical peels are non-invasive, there is no downtime. Patients do not have to remain under supervision at Dr. Aycock’s practice following treatment. They are free to continue with their regular schedule. However, they may wish to take some social downtime because of skin peeling.

Chemical Peels Overview

Chemical peels are a non-invasive skin treatment designed to rejuvenate your complexion and make you look more youthful. Our clinical aestheticians apply acidic compounds to your skin, removing the surface layer of cells and encouraging those deeper down in the dermis to behave more youthfully. Following treatment, fine lines and wrinkles appear reduced, scarring improves, and skin looks more even in the weeks and months that follow.

The depth of the chemical peel you receive depends on the acid’s strength, with stronger versions penetrating the skin further. Light peels treat surface conditions around your skins texture, while more potent versions target deep-set wrinkles and severe sun damage.

Is There Any Recovery Time?

Strictly speaking, there is no downtime following chemical peels. As a non-invasive treatment, you’re free to get back to your regular schedule as soon as you want. In fact, there is such minimal downtime that Dr. Aycock’s team refers to them as “lunchtime peels”. You can go about your day immediately after.

Benefits of Chemical Peels

At Dr. Aycock’s practice, we offer various chemical peels, each of which offers unique and powerful benefits for your complexion.

  • Brighten skin: Chemical peels let you fight dull and lifeless skin. Applying acid to the face forces skin cells to behave more youthfully, making them appear brighter and increasing collagen production.
  • Reduce lines and wrinkles: Chemical peels also let you reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles without the need for surgery.
  • Non-invasive: While some chemical peels can cause peeling, they are entirely non-invasive. Our clinical aestheticians simply apply the peel to your face and leave it to do its work.
  • Low downtime: Chemical peels do not require you to spend any time as an inpatient, and you’re free to return to your regular schedule following treatment. Some patients may want to take social downtime while healing occurs, but this is not mandatory.
  • Clear up breakouts: Because chemical peels unclog pores and remove the top layer of skin, they’re great for fighting breakouts and preventing them from returning in the future.
  • Reverse sun damage: Sun damage can lead to the formation of mottling and brown spots. Chemical peels can reduce and eliminate these visible signs, improving your skin’s overall youthfulness and vitality.

Chemical Peel Candidates

Because chemical peels are non-invasive, practically anyone can benefit from the procedure. You should consult with the team at Dr. Aycock’s practice before getting treatment to ensure that you get the right peel for your objectives. The best candidates are patients who want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce acne scars, and achieve more even skin tone.

I finally had coolsculpting on my tummy and what a surprisingly easy treatment it was. Ashley the nurse was fantastic and she used the new hand piece that is smaller and faster. It was painless except for the 2-minute massage after the treatment but not bad at all. I’m a little sore today but this was easy-breezy and I can’t wait to see my results. I highly recommend it.
