Chemical peels are so customizable and effective that we recommend a peel for almost everyone. These treatments remove layers of damaged skin to reveal bright, rejuvenated skin underneath. At Dr. Aycock’s practice, we’ll choose a peel that balances your skin concerns with your lifestyle for a treatment plan that meets all your needs.

How Does a Chemical Peel Work?

A chemical peel uses acids to break the bonds that hold your old, damaged skin cells together. Sweeping away these dull cells brings vibrant new cells to the surface, erasing years of aging, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

Your provider applies a peel to your skin and leaves it for the recommended amount of time. Depending on the strength of your peel, they may apply a numbing cream before treatment.

How Often Should You Get a Chemical Peel?

The recommended frequency of chemical peels depends on the strength of the peel and the goals you want to achieve. We will let you know how often you should schedule yours.

Light Peel

Light chemical peels use gentle acids to remove the outermost layers of skin. These peels can treat dry skin, dullness or flakiness, and enlarged pores. We recommend them every two to four weeks.

Moderate Peel

Moderate chemical peels can address hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and textural issues. Treatment every three to five months will provide continuous improvements

Deep Peel

Deep chemical peels treat significant lines, wrinkles, textural issues, and pigmentation problems. Because these peels reach deep into the skin, you will only need to have one

What are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?

We recommend chemical peels for treating a wide range of skin concerns. Benefits of these treatments include:

  • Completely non-invasive
  • Customizable to match your needs
  • Less expensive than most comparable treatments
  • No-downtime options available
  • Treats all levels of skin concerns from superficial to deep

Chemical peels use cutting-edge technology to precisely target skin conditions. They provide an affordable option for achieving clear, glowing skin.

Is There Any Downtime With a Chemical Peel?

The amount of downtime required depends on the depth of the peel. Mild peels often have no downtime, although you may have a few hours of minor redness. A medium peel usually causes a few days of redness and peeling, so you may want to take some time to let your skin recover. A deep peel will cause significant peeling and redness that may last several weeks.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Chemical Peel?

We offer a chemical peel for almost anyone, regardless of your skin type or concerns. Unlike many laser treatments, most chemical peels are safe for all skin tones. We will help you choose a chemical peel that happens on your schedule and meets your needs.

I finally had coolsculpting on my tummy and what a surprisingly easy treatment it was. Ashley the nurse was fantastic and she used the new hand piece that is smaller and faster. It was painless except for the 2-minute massage after the treatment but not bad at all. I’m a little sore today but this was easy-breezy and I can’t wait to see my results. I highly recommend it.
