A chemical peel removes the outer layers of skin cells to reveal healthier, brighter ones underneath. These peels can range from a light peel, which removes only a few layers of skin and has minimal downtime, to a deep peel that can involve redness and skin peeling. Dr. Aycock and his team focus on lighter chemical peels that get you back to your daily routine without disruption.

What is a Chemical Peel?

With time, age, and exposure to environmental factors, the outer layers of skin accumulate damage and become lifeless and dull. Spots of hyperpigmentation and even fine lines and wrinkles can also form in this outer layer of skin.

A chemical peel strips all of this dull skin and its imperfections away, leaving healthy, renewed skin. A light chemical peel removes just enough layers of lifeless skin to brighten and refresh the skin beneath without causing peeling, redness, or flaking.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Most light peels, like the ones Dr. Aycock and his team normally offer, use mild acids such as alpha-hydroxy acid to separate the dull layers of skin and strip them away. Dr. Aycock can customize your peel formula and intensity to suit your individual needs. Factors in how deeply a chemical peel works include the strength of the acids and the length of application time, allowing for a tremendous amount of customization for your individual peel.

Chemical Peel Consultations Available

What is a Chemical Peel Like?

Your provider will apply the chemical peel to your cleansed face and allow it to sit for the required amount of time. Most peels take between 30 and 90 minutes. You may feel a mild tingling sensation. When the peel is removed, you will be able to see rejuvenated and healthier skin immediately.

Is There Any Downtime With a Chemical Peel?

There is no downtime with our gentle peels. Often considered a “lunchtime procedure”, this is a treatment you can receive on your lunch break and return to work immediately afterward. Some people may see minor redness or irritation lasting up to a few days.

What Results Will I See From My Chemical Peel?

You can expect your skin to look brighter and more vibrant, with fewer spots of hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Lines and wrinkles look less noticeable and skin looks firmer and more resilient. The peel will help correct uneven tone and texture for smoother, more even-looking skin.

Am I a Candidate for a Chemical Peel?

Most people can receive light chemical peels without problems. Ideal candidates want to reduce lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture, or remove acne scarring and want a procedure that only takes a short time and will not require extensive recovery.

“My experience at the clinic was actually fantastic. The technician, Ashley, was super friendly and talked me through the entire laser procedure, letting my know step by step what she was doing, what was happening, and what effect it was going to have on my skin. As soon as I had a question about what was going on, she’d obviously fielded similar thoughts from previous patients before, because she would inform me before I would even ask the question. I was in and out in no time at all, but not all rushed. It was easy, convenient and just all-round a really great experience. It’s nice to be taken care of by professionals who just handle everything in their stride. Highly recommend :)” *
