Chemical peels are one of the most potent therapies available to improve your complexion. Benefits include reducing the appearance of acne scarring, sun damage, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. Additional practical advantages include the fact that it is a non-invasive treatment, there’s little to no downtime, and it is affordable. After treatment, patients typically have smoother, more toned skin and a reduction in visible imperfections.

Purpose of a Chemical Peel

The purpose of chemical peels is to brighten, repair, and restore your skin, giving it a more youthful appearance. It works by stimulating the skin’s latent repair potential, encouraging cells to go into “housekeeping mode,” removing dead cells and impurities while rejuvenating their structure.

There are various types of chemical peels offered at Dr. Aycocks office, including PCA Peel, D-Tox Peel, Deep Sea Peel, and many more. Your clinical aesthetician will help determine which peel will best address your specific skin goals. Using chemical peels for facial rejuvenation is great because it is a quick treatment that can have dramatic results. Many refer to them as “LunchTime Peels” because you can get them on your lunch break and return to your normal activities right away.

Chemical peels come in various depths, depending on the extent of skin damage and the results you desire. Gentle peels usually use gentle agents, like salicylic acid, which only penetrate the dermis’s upper layers. Deeper peels use carbolic acid and typically target embedded scars and more prominent skin concerns.

During your appointment our highly skilled clinical aestheticians will discuss your skincare needs and make recommendations based on your goals.

Am I a Candidate for a Chemical Peel?

Most men and women are good candidates for chemical peels. The treatment is suitable for those with mild wrinkles and fine lines. Please note that other procedures, such as facelift, eyelid lift, and soft tissue filler, are better options for deep wrinkles and sagging facial skin.
